State News from our Legislative Representative

We have to pay attenton to what’s going on in our state not only as we ride, but as we choose those who are going to protect our rights & fight for those rights to Vote Motorcycles! We need to always show our representa􀆟ves support as well as they support us. That’s always a big reason to get involved! Our freedom isn’t free! It has to be worked and tended to like a garden. That being said these last couple of weeks we have had the privilege of invita􀆟ons to func􀆟ons for our legislators thanks to our life long member of Peo-Taz & PAC member Hunter John Harris.

Seeing them at the capital in their element for legislative day is one thing. When they come to our area for functions and we get to see them again and talk about issues that affect us locally, they start to recognize our familiar faces! We get to discuss our concerning issues so that they can take them back to the capital. This tends to lend credence to when I explain to you as members… get informed get involved! When we show up in force our real issues are no longer redundant. They have faces. They have names, and they have sources.

On July 29, we had a support function at Pringle stables for State Representative Travis Weaver for the 93rd district. We were able to express some of our concerns about autonomous vehicles and con􀆟nued safety programs & educa􀆟on under IDOT. Travis Weaver supports ABATE of Illinois with integrity and appreciates our positions.

Then on August 5th, we were able to attend a summer barbecue with Ryan Spain, State Representative of the 73rd District. He’s been in our corner for ABATE and we wanted to show our support for him as well. I did announce this date at our monthly meeting on Sunday August 2nd so that we could try to get as many members to show up as we could.

Thank you to all those members that made an appearance! Not only was it our chapter that showed up, there were other surrounding chapters that made an appearance too. What a way to truly show unity!

Both of these fine gentlemen do us justice as they support all things motorcycles! We appreciate their support and loyalty to ABATE. Get Informed Get Involved!
